Faces of Microsoft

Faces of Microsoft

In 2015, Microsoft Germany re-designed their office space in Bad Homburg near Frankfurt. As Microsoft has a flexible workspace strategy, many of the employees are often away from the office.

To foster the community, the local Microsoft team created the “Faces of Microsoft Project”. Almost 100 portraits of their colleagues decorate the walls in the open space office area. Through this “trick” the images are visualizing the presence of the absent team members and sustain the team spirit.

In addition, every portrait is a piece of art in itself. Shot by photographer Konrad Kastenmeier, in a studio environment with a film lighting setup and a very shallow depth of field, these intense close-ups emphasize the character of the human face in a three-dimensional way.

People are definitely a company’s greatest asset. It doesn’t make any difference whether the product is cars or cosmetics. A company is only as good as the people it keeps.
